ANTICIPATED HIRING RANGE: $4,206 - $4,500

CSU CLASSIFICATION SALARY RANGE: $4,206 - $7,299

PAY BASIS: Monthly

POSITION PURPOSE: Under direct to general supervision of the Dean of the School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics & Engineering, and under the daily lead direction of the Department Chair, the Instructional Support Technician I offers comprehensive technical support by providing materials, supplies, equipment-related assistance, field trip and outreach logistical support, and technical support for a variety of lower and upper division laboratory courses, and research activities in the Department of Geological Sciences.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE - Equivalent to two (2) years of experience providing instructional support services for a unit or discipline, acting as a student assistant, or in producing materials or supplies related to the discipline.

OR

Equivalent to two (2) years of college with 16 semester units in courses involving extensive use of materials, supplies, or equipment and in a discipline related to the area to which assigned may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience. OR

Equivalent to four (4) years of college with 16 semester units in courses involving extensive use of materials, supplies, or equipment and in a related discipline may be substituted for the experience. (Required to upload unofficial transcripts to job application)

LICENSES - Possession of a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES (SKA’s) -

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: MEDIUM WORK - up to 40% of the activities involve sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling or walking; lifting heavy weight objects limited to 50 pounds; may involve pushing and pulling objects within the weight limits.
