Support the Academic Mission: Clean and care for classrooms, offices, laboratories, restrooms, common areas, and athletic facilities, including locker rooms.
Enhance Residential Life: Maintain individual student rooms, offices, study rooms, hallways, restrooms (including showers), trash areas, stairways, elevators, and lobby areas.
Ensure Cleanliness and Sanitation: Keep campus and residence hall facilities in pristine condition.
Key Responsibilities: - Maintain Workstations: Ensure offices, laboratories, classrooms, restrooms, hallways, stairwells, and residence halls are clean and organized.
- Organize Custodial Supplies: Keep your custodial locker and cart well-stocked and equipment in top condition.
- Meet University Needs: Complete tasks efficiently and professionally, consistently improving your skills.
- Follow-Up on Tasks: Ensure all projects are completed to the satisfaction of the Facilities Services Director.
- Attendance and Deadlines: Maintain a reliable attendance record and meet deadlines consistently.
- Customer Satisfaction: Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers, seeking and responding to feedback.

Position Information - Full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent/probationary position.
- Position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation.
- The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in San Diego.
- Standard SDSU work hours for this position are as follows:
Wednesday and Thursday: 6:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
Friday: 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Off Days: Monday and Tuesday
Department Summary The Division of Business and Financial Affairs is responsible for ensuring a safe, productive campus environment while providing the highest quality service in support of academic excellence through thoughtful stewardship of financial, technological, infrastructure and human resources at San Diego State University.
SDSU Facilities Services (FS), a department of Business and Financial Affairs, is a customer service-based organization providing facility maintenance activities through a transparent and deliberate process. It is responsible for the operation, maintenance, repair, renovation, remodel, and alteration activities in support of the academic and research mission of the university. Facilities Services employs over 235 employees (full time and students) and supports approximately eight million square feet of buildings (including residence halls and parking structures) and 280 acres of improved and unimproved land with an operating budget of approximately forty-five million dollars.

Education and Experience Prior experience not required.
Licenses and/or Certifications Valid California Driver’s License or have the ability to obtain one within 10 days of hire.
Key Qualifications - A basic knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work.
- Ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the duties of the position; follow verbal and written instructions to ensure safety.
- Operate and care for custodial equipment and supplies applicable to the position; use custodial systems such as those used to track work orders and two-way radios for communication.
- Observe safety requirements and safe work practices and methods as required; perform work involving regular physical activity; and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Ability to safely move up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Compensation and Benefits Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $3,680 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,680 - $4,951 per month.
