The City of Waco Seeks:
Are you passionate about the outdoors and dedicated to keeping our parks and green spaces looking their best? Do you have a keen eye for safety and a love for getting your hands dirty? As a Parks Maintenance Technician, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the beauty and functionality of our city's parks, playgrounds, and recreational areas. Every day will bring new challenges and opportunities to make a real difference. This position will have a focus on playground safety and maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required : - High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- 3 Years of Parks Maintenance or General Construction Experience
- According to the needs of the City, specific training and certifications - Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI)
Preferred:- Playground Construction/ Inspection Experience
Essential Functions: - Maintains park facilities and grounds and follows all safety rules and regulations; works independently and makes appropriate decisions based on work experience; leads, schedules and instructs work crews.
- Responsible for building maintenance, irrigation and welding, special events maintenance and basic construction.
- Enforces rules and regulations; assists with training new staff; reports unsafe acts, conditions, accidents and injuries; performs emergency cleaning and maintenance work as directed.
- May be required to respond afterhours, including holidays and weekends, in the event of a departmental or
City wide emergency.
Required For All Jobs: - Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- Supports the relationship between the City of Waco and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with residents, visitors, and City staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and City information.
