Anticipated Hiring Range

$5,173 per month - $5,417 per month ($61,716 - $65,004 annual)

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Position Summary

Under general guidance the Assignments Specialist will provide administrative and analytical work supporting the Student Housing program, specifically in the operational functions of the informational data flow contained in the database. The incumbent will lead the team responsible for the day-to-day functions related to analyzing, planning, organizing and reporting individual applicant and resident data to Housing, Dining & Conference Services (HDCS) staff members and University campus partners at large.

The Assignments Specialist will collaborate with the divisions’ shared service partners to ensure the efficiency and accuracy of the program’s occupancy management. Working with Facilitie Services (FS), Information Technology Services (ITS), Residential Life (ResLife) and other partners, the incumbent will formulate, assess and evaluate the impact of recommended and/or implemented policies, and directly participating in the operational activities of the program.

The Assignments Specialist is the primary liaison for special assignment groups in need of group housing and special needs for their programs. This includes accommodation request through Disability Program & Resource Center (DPRC), housing requests from Athletics, College of Professional & Global Education(CPaGE) and Guardian Scholars Program (GSP). In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for the housing administrative process as they relate to Res Life. Responsibilities include implementation of different programs and enhancements of systems/process in support to existing and emerging changes.

Minimum Qualifications

Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.

Must have a valid California Driver’s license and can be certified to drive on State business.

Environmental/Physical/Special

The incumbent will work in a shared environment within the residential housing community on the main SF State campus. This position may be required to work nights and/or weekends.
