Salary and Benefits

Salary Range: $4,841.00 per month to $6,884.00 per month. PLEASE NOTE: The starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the range of $4,841.00 per month to $5,200.00 per month.

About the Position

The Office of Admission processes and evaluates applications at the freshman, transfer, and graduate student levels focusing primarily on domestic U.S. residents. The office provides some support for the processing of International applications. The Office works closely with Cal State East Bay staff, faculty, and members of the community-at-large. Admission staff process applications and related documents, determine residency, render admission decisions, and proactively communicate with students in an accurate, timely and efficient manner.

Under the general supervision of the Executive Director of Admission and supervising Associate/Assistant Directors, the Admission Counselor positions coordinate the processing, evaluation, and advising of applicants for assigned groups. Counselors must follow a wide and complex range of relevant policies when making final admissions decisions. The positions are also responsible for advising on Admission requirements, policies and procedures to various audiences including prospective students/applicants, high school/community college counselors, faculty and staff. Working with other East Bay offices, counselors also participate in the campus-wide effort to recruit prospective students as well as supporting the transition of admitted applicants to enrolled students.

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including LiveScan, as appropriate), that may include, but is not limited to: criminal records check, verification of academic credentials, licenses, certificates, credit history, professional references and/or verification of work history is required for employment. Cal State East Bay will issue a conditional offer of employment to the selected candidate, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Unsatisfactory results may also affect the continued employment of current Cal State East Bay employees who were conditionally offered the position.
