This is a a supervisor/manager position specializing in areas such as: electrical, HVAC, electronics, carpentry, concrete and masonry, welding, pluming and/or painting. This position will provide assistance in more complex projects and supervision of the supervisors and the vocational-level employees. Employee supervision will include hiring recommendations, training, planning and assigning work, performance assessments, and coaching. Supervision at this level will require the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen.

What you’ll do:

• Oversee (4) DESE facilities, (2) Regional Offices, (1) Career Center
• Oversee the supervisors and the maintenance personnel that are assigned to maintain the buildings and grounds
• Meeting with DESE management personnel
• Directing subordinates
• Ensuring the life safety requirements are met
• Approve spending requests in MissouriBUYS (accounting/purchasing system)
• Yearly facility assessments
• Manage and prioritize capital improvement budget request

All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications

• 3-5 years of skilled experience in trades, building maintenance, or construction
• Ability to plan and direct the work of skilled or semi-skilled workers and other trades personnel
• Ability to train, mentor, coach, and develop skills of staff
• Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret complex technical documentation
• Ability to solve problems and provide several options for resolution

* This position is physically demanding. Examples of job duties may include prolonged periods of walking/ standing/ sitting/ bending, climbing ladders, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, working in inclement weather and working on uneven surfaces. Salary:
