Job Location: Central Office, 1617 Missouri Boulevard, Jefferson City, MO

The engineering technician intern performs semi-skilled technical or paraprofessional duties in connection with the construction of engineering projects. Responsibilities are performed under moderate supervision.

• Performs basic construction tests such as air, slump, moisture, compaction, aggregate gradation, and density; reports results to supervisor.
• Performs measurements, computations, or other work in preparing final plans, change orders, and contractor payment estimates.
• Assists in inspection of bituminous and portland cement concrete plants and/or grading, base, bituminous or concrete paving.
• Maintains records and prepares reports pertaining to inspections; keeps supervisor informed of activities or unusual conditions; ensures projects meet department standards.
• Enters and records information regarding construction projects into computer programs.

• Must be enrolled in a relevant associate’s or bachelor’s degree program.
• Must possess, and maintain, an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher out of 4.0.
• Must have completed at least 30 credit hours.

Special working conditions and job characteristics:

• This is a wage, non-benefits eligible position, working no more than 1,039 hours per year.
• The typical working hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Salary:

$17.44-$18.64 per Hour
