Description

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Director of Finance, Administration and IT, the Sr. Communication/Marketing Specialist provides a variety of services and strategy to the MarCom department as well as all CPaCE program areas. This position develops and executes marketing and communication strategies, media plans, and media buys. The primary goal of this position is to achieve its strategic and long-term objectives from enrollment growth and market branding.

Ability to adapt to an ever-changing marketing media environment. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Knowledge of search engine optimization principles and techniques. Knowledge of social media best practices Ability to work on several tasks at once. Experience with content management systems and databases preferred.

Proven ability to successfully manage multiple concurrent projects. Strong formal project management skills preferred. Ability to brainstorm visual and copy ideas with members of a creative team. Knowledge of copyright laws applicable to design work and creative properties. Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly present and advocate for concepts and ideas to colleagues and clients.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Education and Experience

Physical Summary

Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

Licenses / Certificates

Driver license is preferred. Employees who are required to operate motorized vehicles and/or use their personal vehicle more than once a month on University business are required to take a mandatory Defensive Driving course and enroll in the DMV Employee Pull Notice (EPN) Program.

Compensation

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4,842 - $8,759 per month.

Time Base

1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.

This is a full-time, probationary position.
