Overview:

The Supervising Program Administrator (SPA) works under the general direction of the Civic Engagement Manager and manages the following programs: Water Supply Outreach, Water 101 Academy and Water Ambassador Programs, and the Public Art Program. This SPA position is also a utility player and may be called on to assist the Civic Engagement Manager and/or other SPAs, when needed, with any of the full portfolio of community education and awareness campaigns and projects in the Office of Civic Engagement.
This position directly supervises two full-time staff and at times, temporary employees and interns and works with all levels of staff throughout the organization, as well as external partners and stakeholders. Sound judgment, strong project management, and an understanding of how to work effectively with diverse communities are required in order to be successful in this position.
Frequent travel to the Silicon Valley Advanced Water Purification Center and other Valley Water sites and external locations, as well as periodic evening and weekend work to participate in civic engagement events, is required.

Office of Civic Engagement Unit (Position Code 97 / Kristen Yasukawa)Valley Water Telework Program: Eligibility for telework will depend on the type of work performed, operational needs, and the ability for the employee to perform the essential functions of their job duties while teleworking. Employment with Valley Water requires employees to live within 150 miles of their primary physical work location located in San Jose, California by their start date. This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule, typically working 40% remote and 60% onsite, after completion of the probationary period (one year).
