This position will be located at 917 N. Hwy 67 in Florissant, MO at our Florissant field office.
You will be joining the Remediation and Radiological Assessment Unit within the Department of Natural Resources. You will manage high profile projects and provide state oversight of Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, (or “Superfund”) cleanups at radiologically contaminated sites and other federal facility sites in the state.
- Review draft technical documents submitted by federal facilities sites pertaining to environmental investigation and remediation.
- Assist regulated entities with guidance and expectations for regulatory compliance.
- Attend or participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in developing, reviewing, and implementing field activities and sampling events.
To be successful in this position, a candidate will need the following skills:
- Environmental Engineering: Knowledge of the concepts, principles, theories, and methods to protect and improve the quality of the environment and its resources; and to monitor, control, abate, and prevent pollutants.
- Oral and Written Communication: Express information to individuals or groups effectively, consider the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); make clear and convincing oral and written presentations; listen to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
- Problem Solving: Identify and analyze problems; weigh relevance and accuracy of information; generate and evaluate alternative solutions and make recommendations.
- Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving: Use a logical, systematic, sequential approach to address problems or opportunities or manage a situation by drawing on one’s knowledge and experience base and calling on other references and resources as necessary.
Equivalent to those typically gained by:
- Assistant Engineer - A bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an ABET accredited program and 0-2 years of relevant experience.
- Associate Engineer - A bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an ABET accredited program and 2-4 years of progressive relevant experience.

Salary:
$58,776-$64,968 per Year
