Major Duties Under the general direction of the Senior Director, Enterprise Application Development, the Senior Application Developer provides leadership, project management, and programming expertise at a high technical level to the managers and staff of administrative and academic departments utilizing various CSUN SOLAR systems. The incumbent provides leadership and project management for the development of applications including PeopleSoft, ensuring alignment with business objectives and user needs.
- Conducts analysis of current systems, integrations and processes to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Designs and develops systems, modules, programs, database administration, applications development, manages integrations, and systems support.
- Works closely with area managers and staff to recommend changes to business processes for more effective use of software/technology.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications - Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a job-related field.
- Five years of full-time, progressively responsible field-related experience, including one year of project management, team leadership, systems implementation and PeopleSoft development.
- Two (2) years of experience working with Peoplesoft applications is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities - Extensive knowledge of: programming, systems analysis techniques, and systems development principles; and relational database principles. Knowledge of general analytical methods and techniques, as well as specific detailed knowledge and experience with the Enrollment Management portions of the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions module. Programming skills including SQL, SQR, PeopleCode, Application Engine, and PS Query. Knowledge of student-focused Customer Relationship Management [CRM] systems and the CSUN-specific SOLAR instances, is preferred.
- Ability to: examine logs and investigate the root causes of errors; code, test, and debug software applications; provide ongoing project leadership to technical development staff; analyze problems and propose effective solution.
- Ability to: understand functional and procedural requirements and develop alternative solutions; relate system solutions to departmental management and staff; and communicate effectively both orally and in writing; develop and make presentations; conduct meetings; develop and provide user training; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule - The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver and more.
- Classification: Analyst / Programmer / 0400/ grade 3
- The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $7371 - $10,660 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $7371 - $14,274 per month.
- HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; may include evenings and weekends.
- This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
- The position is currently hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
