There is currently one (1) vacancy located at the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center’s (CCRMC) surgical unit located in Martinez, CA.
Under supervision, the Anesthesia Technician maintains the machinery, equipment and supplies necessary for the delivery of anesthesia; assists the Anesthesiologist with the technical setup preparatory to the induction of anesthesia and performs other related duties.

What you will typically be responsible for: - Preparing the equipment, room, and patient for the anesthesiologist
- Ensuring adequate stock of needed anesthesia supplies
- Inspecting and assisting with maintenance of the anesthesia machine
- Assisting the anesthesiologist with the induction of anesthesia
- Breaking down and cleaning the equipment used during a procedure that requires anesthesia
- Applying sterile techniques

The eligible list established from this recruitment may remain in effect for six (6) months. Minimum QualificationsEducation: Possession of a high school diploma, G.E.D. equivalency or California High School Proficiency Certificate.
Certification: Completion of an Anesthesia Technician training program and must possess and maintain a current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or CPR certification issued by the American Red Cross.
Applicants are required to attach a copy of their certifications to their application. Substitution: One (1) year of full time or equivalent of full time experience performing anesthesia services may substitute for the completion of an Anesthesia Technician training program.
Selection ProcessApplication Filing and Evaluation: All applicants will be required to complete a supplemental questionnaire at the time of application. Applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process.
Training and Experience Evaluation: At the time of filing, within the supplemental questionnaire, candidates will be required to complete a training and experience questionnaire. Candidates that clearly meet the minimum qualifications, as described above, will have their training and experience responses evaluated. The training and experience questionnaire is designed to measure candidate’s relevant education, training, and/or experience as it relates to the Anesthesia Technician classification. (Weighted 100%).
