The Department of Atlanta Information Management (AIM) Director of Digital Transformation is a newly formed position responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight of the Office of Digital Transformation ODT. ODT includes Data & Analytics, Innovation, Intelligent City, and Digital User Experience. The role includes establishing the frameworks for implementation and operationalization, as well as execution of these programs. This position is also responsible for people leadership of the team supporting these programs both directly and indirectly.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Planning
Provide leadership in establishing and operationalizing the City of Atlanta (COA) Smart City eco-system and strategy development.
Provide recommendations to improve overall strategic approach to all technology innovation projects based upon experience supporting the advancement of innovation.
Provide leadership in establishing and operationalizing the COA Data Management & Analytics strategy.
Work internally and externally to develop strategy and roadmap for enhancing user experiences.
Operational Management
Employ strategic tools to develop and assess technological options, ensure logical reasoning, and advance experiences.
Participate in the development and use of tools to facilitate strategy development and processes associated with budgeting, portfolio management, and other areas as needed.
Provide program oversight to the ODT and senior leadership teams in the implementation of the City of Atlanta’s innovation initiatives.
Provide program oversight to data management and analytics in the implementation of efforts transforming COA into a data driven enterprise.
Identify, lead, and manage approaches to business challenges and work with teams across the City to deliver data insights.
Provide oversight for governance of projects, performance measurement, and portfolio management.
Manage complex projects and programs to achieve targeted and measured business goals and key objectives.
Identify, lead, and manage innovative approaches to business challenges and work with teams across the City to deliver customer centric solutions.
Leverage user-center design methods to implement customer centric solutions.
Research and explore special initiatives supporting program objectives and priorities.
Relationship Management/Leadership
Cultivate creative solutions to manage group process - e.g., managing conflict and driving alignment.
Establish a team of key resources to support program implementation and operationalization for areas of accountability.
Establish and effectively manage relationships both internally and externally, including public/private partnerships.
Collaborate with staff to design and recommend the process for strategy execution planning.
Assist with managing strategy for building collaboration with departments- e.g., effective communication and emphasis on relationship management.
Provide direct people leadership support, including performance management, work prioritization and associated administrative responsibilities, for direct reports.
Participate in department wide activities (e.g., learning sessions, all staff meetings, performance reviews).

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, technology, engineering, or an applicable field of study (equivalent professional experience and/or certifications will be considered).
Minimum of 7 years of experience in related and relevant technology disciplines.
Minimum of 7 years of advancing IT leadership required.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
5 or more years working in public sector environment.
