Description
The Job*$1000 upon hire and $1000 upon completion of 2080 service hours.
**R eferring employee shall receive a bonus of $250.00 for referred candidate hired into an eligible regular position and $500.00 upon that new employee’s completion of 2080 service hours. See MOU for details.

Sheriff's Department is recruiting
Experienced Communications Dispatchers to dispatch and maintain continuous communication with emergency units in the field. Positions are primarily located at the Valley Control Center in
Rialto and the Desert Control Center in
Hesperia. Each center serves as the primary 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for its respective geographic location. Multiple vacancies exist at both locations.

POST Differential pay - Intermediate POST Certificate ($1.00/hr) or Advanced POST Certificate ($1.50/hr) CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT 1) Certificate: S uccessful completion of 120-hour P.O.S.T. Basic Dispatcher, Basic Course and receive a satisfactory work performance evaluation.
2) Background: Candidates must not have been convicted of a felony and must successfully pass an extensive background investigation which includes a fingerprint check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation.
3) Shifts: Applicants must be available for
all shifts; incumbents will be required to work
rotating shifts,
weekends,
holidays, and evenings, including mandatory overtime; refusal of assigned shift may result in removal from the list or termination. Shift differential is available.
4) Availability: This department is a "24/7" operation, and the incumbent can expect to work rotating, night, weekend, day, and graveyard shifts, as well as holidays and weekends.
5) Sponsorship: Please note San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.
Minimum RequirementsMust meet ALL of the following KEYBOARDING SPEED 35 wpm
CERTIFICATION California P.O.S.T. Public Safety Dispatcher Basic Certificate.
EXPERIENCE One (1) year of emergency dispatching experience with a law enforcement agency.
Desired QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess the following:
- 40-hour Computer-aided Dispatching System Training Course Certificate
- Department of Justice certified CLETS course
- Department of Justice certified DMV course
- Emergency dispatching experience with a law enforcement agency within the past five (5) years.
Selection Process Examination : There will be a
competitive evaluation of qualifications based on a review of the Application and Supplemental Questionnaire. It is to your advantage to provide as much relevant and detailed work experience as possible.

$62,816.00 - $86,320.00 Annually
