Correctional Officer

Summary

Responsibilities

• Monitor inmate activity and enforce facility rules and regulations
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols and security inspections
• Control access points, verify identification, and manage inmate movements
• Operate surveillance cameras, radios, and other security technology
• Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and security incidents
• Search inmates, cells, and common areas for contraband
• Prepare clear, accurate incident and daily activity reports
• Follow safety protocols to protect staff, inmates, and visitors
• Assist with counts, transports, and escorts as required
• Collaborate with facility staff and supervisors to maintain order
