Summary
Curatorial Intern
Reporting to the Deputy Director and Curator, the Curatorial Intern will provide support for contemporary art and special exhibitions projects. Work will focus on research and curatorial assistance for upcoming exhibitions and office duties as needed.
This position will provide research, logistics and production support for the Harnett Museum's upcoming exhibitions. Intern will gather research, coordinate checklists, proofread, and provide general administrative assistance for exhibition planning. Intern will have the opportunity to draft exhibition texts and meet artists.
Specific duties include:
- Conduct artist, collection, and exhibition related research.
- Maintain exhibition checklists.
- Proofread and fact-check exhibition information.
- Liaise with multiple museum departments.
- Assist with exhibition didactics.
- Other administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications include:
- Excellent writing, research, editing and communication skills.
- Close attention to detail.
- High degree of organization.
- Independent worker.
- Preference given to students studying or familiar with art history and visual arts.
Pay grade: SP Student 4, starting pay $14.25
