Site Safety Officer

Summary

Seeking an experienced Site-Specific Safety Manager to lead safety oversight for a large, multi-year construction project. This role ensures strict adherence to federal, state, and local safety regulations and enforces project-specific safety standards. The position requires strong field presence, proactive risk mitigation, and collaboration with contractors and project teams to maintain a zero-incident environment.
Responsibilities

• Enforce compliance with the site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and safety policies.
• Conduct daily site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NC OSHA, and applicable safety regulations.
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and workforce training sessions.
• Investigate incidents/near-misses and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain safety logs, permits, inspection reports, and training records.
• Review subcontractor safety programs and verify compliance.
• Serve as on-site safety authority and coordinate risk mitigation strategies.

• Bachelor's degree in EHS or 5+ years of construction safety experience on large commercial projects.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification required.
• CHST, ASP, or CSP (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
• Strong knowledge of federal/state safety regulations.
• Proven leadership, documentation, and decision-making skills.
