Job Requirements:
- Former law enforcement or military experience required
- College degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred
- Five (5) years of security supervisor experience required
Job Summary:
The Captain functions as a supervisor overseeing Security Officers, Lead Officers, and other company personnel assigned to one or more client sites.
The Captain ensures:
- All post orders are followed
- Established rounds are completed
- Required reports are filed accurately and promptly
- Proper authorities and clients are notified in emergency situations
Key Responsibilities:
- Coaching & Discipline: Coaches and disciplines personnel appropriately. Seeks guidance from company management or designated representatives as needed. Meets with employees to document coaching and disciplinary actions.
- Training & Oversight: Trains Security Officers and other company personnel. Reviews post orders and assignment details with subordinates.
- Payroll & Scheduling: Assists in payroll submission and personnel management. Ensures adequate coverage for all posts and positions in coordination with management.
- Client Interaction: Meets with client representatives as scheduled or as needed to ensure all security requirements are met and quality customer service is provided.
- Reporting: Prepares, files, and submits various reports as required.
- Post Inspections: Inspects posts and meets with subordinates to outline tasks and responsibilities.
Supervisory Duties:
In accordance with applicable company policies, procedures, and compliance with state and federal laws, supervisory duties include:
- Interviewing, orienting, and training employees
- Planning, assigning, and directing work
- Coaching and appraising employee performance
- Rewarding and disciplining employees
- Addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Making hiring and termination recommendations
Other Duties:
May perform the duties of a Security Officer in accordance with post orders and company policies.
