Summary

JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB DUTIES: This, non-sworn position, under the direction of the Sheriff and the general supervision of the Jail Administrator, will perform a variety of duties including regularly and predictably reporting for work, maintaining security and control in the jail, intervening to stop disturbances, administering first aid, conducting searches and inspections, surveillance of inmates, care and custody of inmates, and preparing reports and other paperwork. Correctional Officers are required to work weekends, nights, holidays and overtime as shift rotations dictate.OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 18 years of age; high school diploma or equivalent; valid Wisconsin driver's license; no felony convictions, satisfactory completion of all required training during time period as established by the agency; strong written and verbal communications skills; experience with and knowledge of computers; ability to work in confined area under stressful situations. 120 hour jail certification is preferred but not required.
