GIS Technician / Specialist
Description
The South Adams County Water & Sanitation District is dedicated to providing reliable, affordable, and sustainable water resources and services in order to protect public health, the environment, and quality of life. The District is seeking an individual to join our GIS team.
This position will:
- Maintain and update District asset data within the ESRI GIS database to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Collect, verify, edit, and manage spatial and attribute data associated with District assets
- Perform field data collection using GPS equipment to capture and update asset locations and related information
- Create and maintain maps and GIS products using ESRI ArcGIS Pro and AutoCAD
- Conduct mapping research and data validation to ensure the accuracy and integrity of GIS data
- Provide GIS-based drafting and design support to assist engineering and operational workflows
- Support ongoing improvements to GIS data quality, workflows, and asset management processes
Qualified candidates should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient computer skills including knowledge of MS Office products
- Experience in ArcGIS Pro, AutoCAD and GPS field data collection
- Ability to work independently with solid problem solving and communication skills
- Solid experience with researching, collecting and analyzing data
- Strong attention to detail.
- Valid, current Colorado Driver’s License
This position requires working in the field (10%) in a variety of locations, terrains and conditions.
Successful candidate will be required to complete a drug screen and background check prior to employment.
Salary Range: Technician $27.70 - $41.55/hr
Specialist $30.47 - $45.70
